Another month, another roundup.
Welcome to the August edition of Resources of the Month You Should Try, a curated list of tools, frameworks, and articles I genuinely think are worth your time.
This edition is coming to you a bit later than planned (life happened). It’s also the last email you’ll see from me for a little while, I’ll explain more at the end!
Following are resources I found in August, you can also catch up on previous editions here.
Resource #1:
Marketing Examples
What it is: A website full of real-world marketing case studies, explained simply and visually.
Why I liked it: Sometimes you don’t need another theory, you just need to see how others are doing it. Marketing Examples makes lessons practical with screenshots and breakdowns that are easy to digest.
How you can use it: Browse by category (like social, email, copywriting) and use the examples as inspiration for your own campaigns. Think of it as a swipe file with context, not just what worked, but why.
Resource #2:
20 best B2B lead generation tools
What it is: A blog post from HubSpot that lists the top B2B lead generation tools, with explanations of what each tool does.
Why I liked it: Lead gen is one of those areas that feels overwhelming because there are just too many options. This post narrows it down into a clear, practical list.
How you can use it: Scan the list, pick one tool to trial, and see how it fits your strategy. You don’t need all of them, just the one that aligns with your current goals.
Resource #3:
Best Email Marketing Subject Lines That Capture Attention
What it is: A blog by Neil Patel sharing a list of subject line examples you can adapt for your own email campaigns.
Why I liked it: Writing subject lines is one of the hardest (and most important) parts of email marketing. Having a bank of proven ones makes the job a lot easier.
How you can use it: Use this as inspiration whenever you’re stuck. Test a few variations from the list in your campaigns and see which ones resonate with your audience.
Resource #4:
10 social media lead generation ideas for your next campaign
What it is: A guide on how to use social media to generate leads, packed with strategies and real examples.
Why I liked it: I often see marketers focus on awareness or engagement but skip lead gen on social. This guide shows that social media can be a direct growth channel if used smartly.
How you can use it: Take one tactic from the guide and experiment with it on your own platforms. Small tests can lead to big wins.
See you soon
Another roundup complete! This will actually be my last edition for a little while as I take a step back to recharge. I’ll be back soon!
I started Marketer in the Making 10 months ago and while I enjoy creating this newsletter for you, lately I found myself at the edge of burnout. Alongside my 9-5 job and spending my weekends creating LinkedIn posts and this newsletter I realised there’s not much time to rest.
So I decided to take a break and spend my weekends exploring my region (North East of England) because frankly I need to touch grass haha and who knows maybe I’ll be documenting my travels and post them on YouTube. Do let me know if that’s something you’ll watch!
Not many creators will admit that they are burning out and if you are experiencing the same you are not alone! I think it’s important to take a step back, rest and reevaluate where your energy is going. Because as cliche as it sounds, you can’t pour from an empty cup.
Whether you’ve read one post, a few, or all of them (you legend!) thank you so much for reading Marketer in the Making and I really hope you’ve enjoyed this series and found some resources that helped you along the way.
If you try any of these, let me know, reply to this email or comment below, I read every single one.
And as my former boss, Mickey Mouse, says: “It’s not goodbye, it’s see you real soon.”
Until next time,
Anastasia xx
